I have a question about the Duo 320 and Duo 640. I've read the spec sheets, and I've got the Duo 320 and Duo 640 in a server. Yet something eludes me...

I know that the PCI-Express x8 (or PCI Express 2.0) x4 can supply 25W for the Duo cards (as seen with the fio-pcicheck command), but how much more power is required with the additional power connector on the card ?

Thanks

Hi Eric,

Can you share with us the results of your inquiry regarding the extra power needed for the Duo 640?

I would like to second Samb's request to share power consumption data for available drives. I am conducting an investigation in using these drives in an embedded communication system's application and the data is required to compair to other manufacturers.

I recently posted a related message here regarding how much external power is needed for the card and problems getting it on DL360/DL380 G6/G7 servers here:

Thanks,
